Who Has the Longer Packing List?

We've been making lists, separately for weeks. Mom's list includes clothes and totals 54 items, "twenty of which will fit in a teacup", she says... (Kaiser card, driver's license, atm card, tweazers, pack of gum, band aids, emery board, et al).

My list, which doesn't include clothes, includes 36 items. So Mom wins! Or wait, do I win because the least number of items represents the lightest backpack? But I haven't counted clothes! We're confused.

She says I definitely win. I'm not sure. We're mailing more clothes to Paris so we don't look like backpackers our last week, which we're spending in France.

Does it look like she can fit 54 items in this pack and keep it under five pounds? It's magic!

Um, for the record, I will be wearing clothes. I just haven't added them to my list yet.

Guess where we'll be in exactly two weeks...

That's right! On a plane to London! We are going to find the source of the River Thames (a squishy, wet field somewhere in the Cotswolds) and then we are going to walk about 125 miles to Windsor, on this pretty national trail carved out of a former tow path along the river.
Follow us as we ramble through sheep pastures, drink beer, eat cheese, and probably get lost a few times.
